The Association is based in Anglet. Their goal is to preserve the memory of the Basque Country Comète network to whom the airmen of the Allied forces, and others, during the Second World War, owe so much.

The most significant event each year is the annual Comète commemoration held over a long week-end every September. Remembrance ceremonies take place, and participants retrace the routes taken by guides and escapees fleeing occupied France and reaching Spain by crossing the Pyrenees.
The Friday is usually reserved for commemorative activities and the hike takes place on Saturday and Sunday. Participants are usually based in Bayonne or Anglet.
